Our Instructors
Jocelyn Sample- Owner
Jocelyn Sample is a lifetime resident of Vero Beach and has been dancing since the age of three. At 7 years of age she started dancing with Chris Sexton at the Recreation Department, and by the age of 11 was an assistant teacher. She attended the Indian River Charter High School for the Visual and Performing Arts as a Dance Major. She was very involved in the development of the dance program and was captain of the dance team. She also taught dance for the “Once in a Lifetime Dance” company while in high school teaching ballet and tap. During which time she maintained a 4.3 GPA and graduated as class Salutatorian. After graduation, she went on to Indian River State College to study business and was part of the dance program there for 2 years. While there she was exposed to new styles of dance. One year after graduating high school she received her AA degree and went on to teach at the Charter High School and coach the school’s dance team. She is currently perusing her Bachelors Degree in Management. She has been trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and choreography. She runs the business side of Serendipity Dance and it has always been her dream to own a dance studio. She is very excited about the opening of Serendipity Dance and sharing her love of dance to the community.
Amber Garr

Amber Garr grew up in north-central Pennsylvania where she began dancing at the age of four. Her primary training was in ballet at the Williamsport Civic Ballet company, but she also participated in tap and jazz classes for many years. While in Pennsylvania, Amber had the opportunity to train with a variety of dance companies including the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Erie Ballet Company, School of American Ballet, Ithaca Ballet Company, The University of the Arts (Philadelphia), North Carolina School of the Arts, Broadway Dance Center (NYC), Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, New York City Ballet, and Point Park University. Although dance has always been Amber’s passion, she decided to pursue a career in marine biology, and dance whenever she can. She attended Goucher College in Towson, Maryland where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Biology, and spent the rest of her time training and performing with their dance department. She then moved to North Carolina to pursue her master’s degree in science at Duke University, where she participated in the university and local studio ballet classes. The next step took her to Florida for her marine biology career, and towards her future with Serendipity Dance. Amber began dancing with the Chris Dale Dancers immediately after moving to Vero Beach, and one year later, she was teaching dance at the Indian River Charter High School. Amber stayed at the high school on a part-time basis for five years while teaching ballet, dance history, choreography, biology, marine science, and coaching the dance team, all while working as a full-time marine biologist. In 2007, Amber left the high school, and joined Serendipity Dance. She continues to work as a marine biologist, while pursuing her Ph.D. and teaching ballet for the new studio. She is very excited about Serendipity Dance, and is delighted to have the opportunity to teach again, perform in the local community, and share her love of dance with everyone!
Amanda Jordan

Amanda Jordan grew up in Austin, Texas and started dancing at a young age. At the age of 8 she moved to Vero Beach with her family where she continued to dance on and off. While in high school she was co-captain of the dance team and received the “Dance Award” during her senior year. After graduation she went on to Indian River State College on a full dance scholarship. During her second year there she had a dance piece titled “Teardrop”, that she choreographed, showcased in the 2007 Just Dance concert. Also while at IRSC she taught ballet for the Performing Arts Academy from 2006-2007. During the summer of 2007 she went to New York City to take classes at Broadway Dance Center.
